Yu-Han Liu 劉 宇 涵

Yu-Han Liu is a Taiwanese artist and illustrator based in London. Her practice is rooted in a deep connection with Taiwan’s mountainous landscapes, where hiking and on-site sketching have shaped her understanding of place, memory, and identity. Working primarily with acrylics, pastels, and colored pencils, Liu blends textures and warm tones to capture the shifting light and flowing contours of ridgelines.
While her recent work focuses on nature and emotional geography, her earlier picturebook projects explored social issues and personal narratives shaped by environment. One such work, "When Do You Feel Small?", was shortlisted for the Creative Conscience Award in the Social Issues category.
In 2025, Liu was selected to exhibit at Breeze Art Fair in Seoul, where Jungmin Lee, curator of Daegu Art Museum, wrote a critical review of her work, praising its quiet strength and the evocative use of landscape as metaphor. This recognition affirmed her commitment to exploring how place-based imagery can communicate across cultures.

著迷於壓克力、粉彩、色鉛筆創造的組合，不同材質與筆觸在平面上的奇特碰撞讓人神魂顛倒，以此打造出的山稜是我目前最投入的創作方向。之前的繪本作品琢磨在傳達社會議題，嘗試描寫受到大環境影響的人物故事。
